What is a Nazarene?
In the first century, the term “Nazarene” was used to described Jesus and his followers because he was from the town of Nazareth.
Nazarenes weren’t considered socially elite, rich or powerful, and they certainly weren’t considered popular! They were described as ordinary folk, and sometimes called names that weren’t even that nice: “Nazareth! Can anything good come from there?” (John 1:46)
When we look at the life of Jesus, we see that he socialized with anyone and everyone: rich, poor, educated, uneducated, beautiful, ugly, healthy, sickly, etc. He didn’t care where or what you came from. Jesus was for everyone. He is for whomever seeks him. A Nazarene. Simply put…you!
Nazarenes are called to love everyone. We are here to serve and help our community. We sincerely hope that you will find us to be open, friendly and loving individuals. We are happy to have you worship with us!
