The board is delighted to announce that Pastor Kyle Fellows has accepted the call to be Lead Pastor at Cross Community Church!
Please pray for the Fellows family, the staff, the C3Student youth group, the church board, and the congregation during this time of transition. Pray that it goes smoothly and that we are open to God’s leading as Pastor Kyle’s roles at Cross Community shift between now and December 21. Please plan to attend the installation service for Pastor Kyle on Sunday, December 21, at 11 a.m. Send a Message of Celebration to Pastor Kyle! Lead Pastor Candidate Bio:
Pastor Kyle joined us at Cross Community Church in August 2019. In 13 years of full-time ministry, he has enjoyed primarily ministering to teens and children, building relationships, empowering volunteers, developing leaders, and partnering with parents and families. He believes that God has placed His Church in the world as a primary means of revelation. The local church should be a place to gather, worship, and learn faith. But, even more, it is to be a community with a God-given mission to be active in its love and compassion. Pastor Kyle is excited to explore new and creative ways to share the good news of Jesus and to serve our community. Pastor Kyle received training at Olivet Nazarene University (Bourbonnais, IL). He currently holds a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Education and a Master of Religion. He was ordained in 2016 as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene. Before coming to Cross Community, he served as an Associate Pastor in Belleville, IL. Pastor Kyle is passionate about good food, good coffee, and the Green Bay Packers. More than anything, he loves spending time with his wife, Morgan, and their two sons, Owen and Theo. Presented by Scott Williams, Church Board Secretary during Worship Hour Announcements:
We do bring good news today - exciting news for you! We kept hearing from Michigan District Superintendent, Pastor Brad Dyrness, as we have gone through the process of searching for a pastor that, “If it seems good to the Holy Spirit and to us.” We kept hearing that through this opportunity that started a little while ago. As you know, the board has been prayerfully considering pastoral candidates throughout the summer. We have had a few in, we have had a chance to get to know a few. We have appreciated your pray support, oh my, have we needed that! It seems like it’s been a really long time but we have needed the prayers and you have done such a great job at lifting us up. The Church Board received a new candidate from the District Superintendent, Brad Dyrness, at the end of September. We were able to interview the candidate on October 8th. The board convened on October 12th to discuss and voted to nominate the candidate to the church for the position of Lead Pastor of Cross Community. So we have found a candidate. This week, the District Superintendent informed the board that the candidate has agreed to have his name presented for a vote from the congregation. The board is now presenting to you the name of Rev. Kyle Fellows. It's exciting to see what's happening. We have had a number of pastors who have stepped up and those getting their local licenses. We have been blessed tremendously in this church, more than we could have ever anticipated with what this was going to look like about five months ago. The pastoral selection process, according to the Church of the Nazarene Manual requires that we make the announcement of the vote two weeks prior to the vote, so yes, two weeks from today, we will be voting. This means that we will announce it again next week, and the voting will take place at a special meeting right after the church service on Sunday, November 2nd. Please note that only members of the Cross Community Church of the Nazarene may participate in the vote and you will need to be present to vote. If you have questions, please seek out a board member that will be glad to answer your questions. Thank you. << WATCH ANNOUNCEMENT LIVE HERE >> The church board met with another candidate and Pastor Brad Dyrness, our District Superintendent.
We are taking a few days to prayerfully consider this candidate and to discern the Lord's will. Thank you for continuing to join us in prayer this week. "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives," Colossians 1:9 |
